Team Ontario Black Game Summary 1

Team Ontario Black Game 1
Team Ontario Black started off their ISF tournament with an 11-0 mercy no hit win against Korea. 
Team Black’s pitcher Alex Sagl started the game off by striking out the first batter of the game.   Alex walked the next 2 batters and with the help of the defense retired the next two batters to shut down Team  Korea’s first inning threat.   
Team Black shut down Team Korea in the second inning by striking out the first batter, walking, the second, sitting down the third batter on 4 pitches, and retiring the fourth batter.
Madison Wallace, Team Black’s player of the game, put Team Black on the board in the second inning with a triple driving home, Riley Carter who got on with a leadoff single, and Alex Smith, who got on with a bunt.  Jade McGarr drove in Wallace with a line drive single up the middle, giving Team Black a 3-0 lead over Korea.
In the third inning, Alex Sagl k’d the first two batters, and forced the third batter to hit a ground ball to shortstop Riley Carter who threw the batter out at first.
In the bottom of the third, Team Ontario Black broke the game open and scored 8 runs on 3 walks, 1 hit batsman, and 7 hits, 2 by Miranda Castiglione and Wallace, and one each by Sagl, Carter and Shaina McDonald, put Team Ontario Black ahead of Korea by a score of 11-0.
In the top of the fourth, Team Black shut down Korea to win the game 11-0.
Alex Sagl struck out 7 and walked 3, in her no-hitter!
Madison Wallace, went 3 for 3 with 5 RBIs.
Congrats to Team Ontario Black on their first win!

Team Ontario Red Game 2 and 3 Summary

Team Ontario Red Game 2
Team Ontario Red continued their winning ways by defeating Oviedo Blaze (Florida) 4-1.  Starting pitcher Brittany MacPherson pitched 3 innings allowing 2  hit and striking out 1 batter.  Rachel Young entered the game in the 4th innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits and recorded 6 strikeouts.
Team Ontario scored their first run in the 4th inning.   Hayley D’Avilar reached  base on a single and scored on Paige Haley’s single with 2 out.  
Ontario added 2 runs in the 5th innings.  Senna Francesconi led off the innings with a walk. Hayley D’Avilar  had a bunt single and Brittany Moffat  reach on an error.  Paige Haley  and Allyson Delorenzi  both recorded sacrifice flies to drive in the runs.   Lyndsay Butler, Crystal Marentette and Paige Haley recorded additional singles.
Hayley D’Avilar made an outstanding sliding catch in the outfield with 2 runners on base in the 3rd inning.
Team Ontario Red Game 3
Team Ontario Red defeated the California Impact 3-1 in their second game of the day. 
Lyndsay Butler picked up the win pitching 5 innings.  She allowed 2 hits and recorded 7  strikeouts.  Rachel Young entered the game in the 6th innings and allowed 1 run on 2 hits and recorded 2 strikeouts.
Lyndsay Butler led off the 2nd innings by hitting a triple. She was scored on a single by Janet Leung.  In the 4th inning Hayley D’Avilar led off the inning with a triple and she was scored on a single by Paige Haley who scored later in the inning on a throwing error by the California Impact catcher while Aspen Searle stole 2nd base.  
Additional singles were hit by Paige Haley, Janet Leung , Aspen Searle and Sarah Maciejewski.

Team Ontario Red Game 1 Summary

Team Ontario Red began the ISF Youth World Cup on a positive note defeating the Colorado      All-Stars 3-0.  
Ontario scored their first run in the 5th inning.  With one out Sarah Maciejewski hit a double to the left field fence.  Molly Tissenbaum advanced Maciejewski to 3rd base.  With 2 out Paige Haley delivered a single down the left field line scoring Maciejewski.
In the 6th inning Ontario scored 2 more runs.  Janet Leung reached base on an error and was advanced to 3rd base on singles by Lyndsay Butler and Allyson Delorenzi.   Crystal Marentette scored Leung from 3rd base with a deep sacrifice fly.  Rachel Young followed that with an RBI single to score Butler.
Lyndsay Butler and Rachel Young combined on a 3 hit, 11 strikeout performance. Butler started the game and over 4 innings allowed 3 hits and recorded 7 strikeouts.  Young relieved in the 5th innings and no hit Colorado over 3 innings recording 4 strikeouts.
Crystal Marenteete hit a double and Aspen Searle a single to complete Ontario’s offense output.
Team Ontario Red plays 2 games tomorrow, 2:30pm vs Ovieda Blaze (Florida) and Easton California Impact at 5:00pm.
Team Ontario Black begins the tournament tomorrow at 5:00pm against Korea.

Wednesday Events

Woke up this morning to freezing temperatures.  Went to the diamond for a 9:00am practice and it warmed up to a high of 62 degrees by 10:00.   We played a split squad game against Brazil today.  Team Black played the first 4 innings and Team Red played the last 3. 

Team Black does not play tomorrow so we will be having a practice in the morning and afternoon.

Tomorrow the competition begins for Team Red.   We will be having batting practice in the morning and opening ceremonies at 6:00pm.  After opening ceremonies we play the Coloroda All-Stars at 7:30pm.   Looking forward to the tournament beginning.

30 minutes. Players are looking forward to
seeing the complex and enjoying a practice on
the grass and dirt instead of gym floors.

Team Ontario Travel Plans

Most members of Team Ontario are arriving in Tampa on December 28th. 
The team will be hitting the diamond for a late afternoon practice on the 28th and will practice in the afternoon on the 29th.

Competition begins on December 30th.
